School stuff - Page 1

You were expecting the rest of my Half-Life files? Well..I'll get to them. First wanted this done though. This is where I've put all the files I've made for school projects in 2001. It was a course on Interaction Design, and I only did a year of it, so there's not that much of it.

Still, I'm quite happy with some of these creations, so I figured it was worth showing. This first page shows all the graphics I made, the next has all the other types of files.

All the links will go to the pages I used for original submission (in Dutch, but I've added a brief description in English now too (it actually took me a year before I got to doing that..heh).

My birth / death announcements

Well, the assignment was to make an announcement of my (re-)birth and death. So, thinking about the word "life", I somehow came to thinking about life on other planets, and so I created this little flower (a violet, apparently my birthday flower) being alive on Mars. "Finally life discovered" it says.

The death announcement is pretty much the same, but sadder, with a dead, wilted flower on it. Kinda morbid, but that was the assignment...

Phileken (Philips/Heineken) site

Well, for this assignment I got to do what I like to do best. Combine too different things, or rather, putting something in the style of something else. I chose for putting the Heineken beer website in the style of Philips electronics. This gives nice, blue-shaded beer, I guess.

Open Day ad

An advertisement for the Interaction Design open day (where potential people check out the course), this first started with me pain-stakingly re-making the logo in some font-creating program. Then, I searched for appropriate pictures related to various aspects of the interaction design course, and made a nice little collage out of it.

The info page uses the main elements of the first page as background to a bunch of required text.

A Thing

This is supposed to be an e-commerce site trying to sell "some simple, insignificant object". I had this little orange football-dude of which I don't even remember from where it came...but I took pictures of it in various positions and tried to make a nice little dutch football-styled page about it.

Not quite as wonderful as the other things I made, really, the reason for this were time constraints in its development. I did get to try out some neat little effect (the white flashy back part on the first image) that I learnt how to do online. Which is pretty much the biggest thing going for the project.
